Life of Jesus: Historical evidence from the Holy Land: This 6 session Lenten series explores fundamental questions about who Jesus was and is and why he matters to our lives today.  This is a great introduction to Christianity, but it is also very informative for those who have been following the footsteps of Jesus for quite some time.  Come join us on the journey through the Holy Land and invite your friends.  The classes take place on Wednesday’s at 7:30pm.

You Can Make a difference Socks can make the difference in the life of someone in need. Our goal is to collect 500 pairs of socks for the  homeless.  A box is in the church entrance.  If each parishioner brought 3 pairs of socks we could reach our goal.  Let’s reach our goal by St. Patrick’s Day!

 

Articles for sale St. Augustine’s Parish Guild is disbanding and will be disposing of some of their glassware.  If anyone is interested in purchasing these please call the church office 327-3970.  Available are glass plates large and small .50ea. also cream & sugars pinwheel pattern  .50each.

 

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner Sunday March 21 @6:00pm, All are invited.  Information and sign up sheet are on the bulletin board in the church entrance. This is the last Sunday to sign up!

Sanctuary Guild workshop There will be a workshop for sanctuary guild members on Saturday , March 27th from 9:30-11:00 AM in the church . Any parishioners are welcome to attend .

 

Anglican Laity Retreat at Mount St. Francis:  Is the chaos of life stressing you out? Do you yearn for a quiet weekend with the Good Shepherd?? Then look no further! This silent Retreat takes place Friday to Sunday, March 26 - 28, 2010 at the Franciscan Retreat Centre in Cochrane. The talks this year will include presentations on the core of Franciscan Spirituality, the Church as the People of God, and Responsible Freedom. This weekend is supported by free will offerings where tax receipts are issued for donations above the cost for the weekend: $175. Visitor Andrea Guerrero from Santiago Chile is taking on a long term mission challenge in North Africa. She will be at St. Augustine’s on Sunday Feb 28 and will give a short summary of her adventure at the 10am service.  She will also give a 15 minute presentation (including a 5 minute video about the area she will be working in) which she will give in the church after the service.  All are welcome to stay and hear of her adventure.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake supper will be held on Tuesday, February 16 (come and go) in the church hall, 5-7pm.

Ash Wednesday services of Holy Communion with the Solemn Imposition of Ashes will be Feb. 17 at 7:00am, 12:15 noon and 7:00pm. Please return your palm crosses from previous years to the church by Feb 16 so that they can be burned in preparation for the Ash Wednesday services.
