SUMMARY:Coldest Night of the Year 2026
DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of the year when St Augustine’s gathers its hardy members to fundraise and walk in the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY)\, a Canada-wide initiative to support the homeless\, hungry\, and hurting in our communities. The walk takes place downtown on Saturday\, February 28 at 5 pm. Join our team and walk with us\, or donate to a team member as we raise funds for programs and housing for some of the most vulnerable members of our city. Our team has already been challenged by Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd to see who can raise the most funds and gather the most team members. Coaldale Mennonite “Walkers and Talkers” and E Free’s team always put up a fierce but friendly challenge\, too\, in pursuit of the coveted “Ice Cube” trophy (presently on display in the Narthex)\, or the “Frozen Buns” award for the largest team. Our team members have ranged in age from 4 to 80\, and we always have a wonderful time. Last year\, we raised the incredible sum of just over $14\,000 — “dare we ask or imagine” even more? Starring Cary Grant\, David Niven and Loretta Young\, this sweet old film offers a post-war take on contemporary Christmas and the Anglican tradition. It was later remade as the Preacher’s Wife starring Denzel Washington and Whitney Houston\, but this version is the original. The movie starts at 7:00 pm ~ bring snacks and soft drinks to share as you are able.

DESCRIPTION:The Annual Seniors’ Christmas Party is rapidly approaching — it’s the best party of the year!  The gala will be on Saturday\, Nov. 29\, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Crypt. You’ll have an opportunity to meet other newcomers and our clergy\, learn more about St. Augustine’s and complete a parish membership form if you choose. DESCRIPTION:Our Harvest Dinner is the highlight of St. Augustine’s fall schedule when everyone is invited to share a scrumptious roast beef dinner. Wine will be available for purchase but it is cash only – $15 per bottle or $5 per glass. Tickets are $12 for adults\, $5 for children under age 12\, and free for children 2 years old or younger.
