SUMMARY:Sunday Morning Worship
DESCRIPTION:The 10:00 a.m. Sunday service is usually a Holy Eucharist and our largest gathering\, featuring a variety of music\, liturgies and preaching throughout the year. Our Senior Choir regularly leads our congregational hymns and sings an anthem following the sermon. We also have smaller groups of musicians that lead more contemporary songs at times during this service\, as well as numerous musicians who offer their instrumental and vocal talents throughout the year. We offer a well-run Sunday School and nursery during this service. After the service you are invited to join us for coffee and snacks downstairs in the area below the church called the Crypt. \nNOTE: If you are not ready to join us in person\, or if you live outside Lethbridge\, we have installed audiovisual equipment so that you can join us “virtually” on a home computer or mobile device.

SUMMARY:New Testament Greek for Beginners
DESCRIPTION:Imagine reading the Bible in the original Greek. This class is being offered at the beginners’ level on Mondays from 19:30 to 20:30\, and at the intermediate level on Thursdays from 18:00 to 19:00 (just before choir practice). Both classes take place in the Bambrick Room (immediately below the church office) and while they both began in January of this year\, if you would like to come on board just contact Tim Pope (pope@uleth.ca). A loaner textbook is available for the beginners’ class\, and a free copy of the Greek New Testament for the intermediate class.

DESCRIPTION:Did you know that December 21 is the longest night of the year? On this night\, we hold a more contemplative Christmas service for anyone who needs to find some space for more challenging feelings in the Christmas season. Maybe you are on the journey of loss or grief\, perhaps you are far from or estranged from those you love\, perhaps you struggle with anxiety\, depression\, or loneliness\, or perhaps it has been a particularly difficult year for you for other reasons. All are welcome at this service in which we seek to create space in which hope can reside for all who gather together. The service is shared by the local Anglican\, United\, and Lutheran Churches. This year it will be held at Southminster United Church\, with the participation of clergy and volunteers from St. Augustine’s.

DESCRIPTION:This year’s AMP is on Monday\, February 9 in the Crypt (basement of the church). Anyone who regularly attends any of our weekly services and receives Holy Communion is considered a member of this congregation\, and is welcome to attend and to vote during the meeting. Please plan to join us at 6 pm for a potluck dinner. Bring along a dish of your choice to share. Note that labelling the dishes as gluten-free or lactose-free or “contains garlic” is very helpful. The business meeting begins at 7 pm. For those submitting reports for the booklet\, the deadline is January 20. Please submit them by email (office@staug.org) or drop them off at the church office in either hardcopy or digital form.
