DESCRIPTION:Something exciting is on the way\, and your kids are invited!  Join us for VBS 2026. This year’s theme is “What’s Cookin\,’” a fun-filled adventure where children will discover faith\, friendship and lessons that will help them grow in God’s love. In this 4-day series\, kids get to put on their aprons and discover how to practice spiritual habits that bring them closer to God. Through Old Testament stories like those of Jacob\, Moses\, and Deborah\, our young chefs will realize that God always makes time for us\, God gave us gifts that make a difference\, God makes us stronger together\, and we make God known when we share our story. \nAll children are welcome\, preschool through to Grade 5. DESCRIPTION:Many of you are praying for and supporting Evangeline (Evie) Hammond (daughter of Pat and Karen Hammond) as she and her husband\, The Rev. Khalil Haddad\, minister in war torn Beirut. Evie supports relief\, development and child and youth ministries in Lebanon. Everyone is invited to hear her story because she will be with us in the Parish Hall after church on August 16.  Come and listen and pray with her. \nWe will also celebrate\, because Evie and Khalil are expecting their first child in September! DESCRIPTION:Join us Sunday September 20 immediately following the service at the Elk’s Compound in the river bottom (55-79 Botteril Bottom Road S) for the annual Welcome Back Picnic. Hamburgers\, hot dogs\, veggie burgers and beverages will be provided. Those whose last name starts with A-M are encouraged to bring a salad or side dish\, and N-Z a dessert to share. There will be games and a candy toss! Donations to help cover costs are welcome\, there will be a box on the table. Hope to see you there.

SUMMARY:Book Study - focus on truth and reconciliation
DESCRIPTION:In the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation\, St. Augustine’s parishioners will be meeting to read “Our Home and Treaty Land” by Raymond Aldred and Matthew Anderson. Part theology\, history\, and call to action\, we hope this book will elicit valuable\, compassionate and informed conversations. Sessions will include “read alouds” of the book\, followed by time for questions and conversation. No prior knowledge or reading is required for this study. If you do want to take a look at the book ahead of time\, or have your own copy to read along with the group\, you can find copies on Amazon\, or from a local bookstore\, for about $25.
