DESCRIPTION:Many of you are praying for and supporting Evangeline (Evie) Hammond (daughter of Pat and Karen Hammond) as she and her husband\, The Rev. Khalil Haddad\, minister in war torn Beirut. Evie supports relief\, development and child and youth ministries in Lebanon. Everyone is invited to hear her story because she will be with us in the Parish Hall after church on August 16.  Come and listen and pray with her. \nWe will also celebrate\, because Evie and Khalil are expecting their first child in September! DESCRIPTION:Join us Sunday September 20 immediately following the service at the Elk’s Compound in the river bottom (55-79 Botteril Bottom Road S) for the annual Welcome Back Picnic. Hamburgers\, hot dogs\, veggie burgers and beverages will be provided. Those whose last name starts with A-M are encouraged to bring a salad or side dish\, and N-Z a dessert to share. DESCRIPTION:In the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation\, St. Augustine’s parishioners will be meeting to read “Our Home and Treaty Land” by Raymond Aldred and Matthew Anderson. Part theology\, history\, and call to action\, we hope this book will elicit valuable\, compassionate and informed conversations. Sessions will include “read alouds” of the book\, followed by time for questions and conversation. No prior knowledge or reading is required for this study. If you do want to take a look at the book ahead of time\, or have your own copy to read along with the group\, you can find copies on Amazon\, or from a local bookstore\, for about $25. DESCRIPTION:All are warmly invited to join us\, following the 10am service on October 25th\, for a Sacred Space Tour. We will look at and talk about the many signs and symbols in our worship space\, how they speak to us\, and how they can assist us in our worship together. This will be followed by an informal Q&A open to all things Anglican. Ever wondered why some people sign themselves with the cross? Or why we read the gospel in the middle of the aisle? Or what a collect is? Both newcomers and long-time parishioners are welcome to bring questions about what it is to be Anglican\, who we are as a church\, and how we can more fully embrace our worship\, belief\, and practice together as the people of St. Augustine’s Anglican Church.
