NOTE: DUE TO IN-PERSON MEETING RESTRICTIONS RELATED TO COVID-19, THIS ACTIVITY MAY OCCUR DIFFERENTLY
This began as a ministry of St. Augustine’s Church and has grown into a city wide ministry. Most recently, volunteers from St. Augustine’s have been responsible for feeding those in need at the Soup Kitchen every 4th Saturday of the month.
During the COVID pandemic, hungry people still need our help. The Soup Kitchen has measures in place to protect both volunteers and clients, and are meeting all Government and Health Ministry guidelines for Soup Kitchens during this time. New measures include:
- limiting numbers to 50 (including volunteers, staff, and guests)
- implementing enhanced hand washing and use of hand sanitizers
- requiring all staff and volunteers to wear gloves when preparing and serving food
