Sacred Space & CoWorking

This is an invitation to all who are interested in learning about and creating an intentional spiritual community. The idea behind a co-working space is to provide time and space to engage both prayer and work together. We’ll meet once a week on Tuesdays, and structure our work around the Daily Office and rhythms of prayer.

The structure for the day would begin with Morning Prayer at 8:30, joining with the parish’s regular Morning Prayer service on Tuesday’s. This will be followed by a quiet time of working through the morning until noon. At noon, we’ll do a short mid-day prayer and then share our lunch together. At 1:00, we’ll return to our work until 4:00 when we will finish the day with the Service of Light from Evening Prayer. You may join us at any time during the day, or for whatever part of the day you wish.

The space we will be using is the Sunday School area of the Parish Hall and the Bambrick Room. We’ll have places for people to set up to work from their computers or do desk-type work (study, crafts, etc.). This will be in a room that is silent. We also have other rooms where you can meet with people, engage in conversation or make phone calls or Zoom meetings. If you work from home, or are studying at school, this might be a nice weekly alternative for you. If you are retired, or do not have a formal job, you are still welcome to come. You can bring reading, writing, craft work or just plan to spend the time in contemplation. We simply ask that you engage your task quietly and contemplatively.

This model of work and prayer shows that the two are not mutually exclusive, and forming a community to engage together in our work and prayer is an ancient and effective way of being. As we meet together over time, we will find a rhythm that works for us, and we will begin to take some time to discern who we would like to be as a community. We will meet every Tuesday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Church, beginning October 17, 2023. You are welcome to come out on a trial basis and see if this is something that is a good fit for you. If you have any questions, please contact Br. Jason at
