Important COVID-19 Update, April 3, 2020
CURRENT SITUATION: Due to the threat of COVID 19, services and meetings at the church continue to be on hold until further notice as directed by the Anglican Diocese of Calgary. However, the office remains open.
WORSHIP CONTINUES: St. Augustine’s is now using Facebook Live to “live stream” services of prayer and worship, and we have upgraded our router and bandwidth to improve video and audio. Morning Prayer takes place at 9:00 a.m. on Mon., Wed., Thurs. and Friday. Evening prayer is broadcast at 6:00 most weekdays. Sunday worship takes place at 10:00 a.m. each week. And look forward to Holy Week when we will hold virtual services of worship on Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. MINISTRY CONTINUES: The church has purchased meeting software called Zoom which will allow us to meet in virtual groups online. For example, our Lenten Study Series resumed in virtual form on March 31, and our Adult Confirmation class started April 5. This format is also appropriate for virtual pastoral conversations.
GIVING: Some have expressed a desire to keep up with their regular offerings. These can be dropped in the church mailbox (in the slot located to the right of the main doors) or cheques can be mailed to the church. Please do not mail cash. Contact the office if would like to start an automatic monthly bank transfer arrangement, or you may click on ‘Donate Now’ at the bottom of our website home page to make a payment using your credit card.
VIRUS INFORMATION: St. Augustine’s has a practicing physician on our COVID-19 Response Team. She recommends Alberta Health Service’s website as an excellent source of information on the spread of the virus and what individuals can do. Follow this link: ahs.ca/covid

Ecumenical Campus Chaplaincy: we support this ministry to the University of Lethbridge and the Lethbridge College which is a joint ministry of the Anglican, Lutheran, Presbyterian and United Churches.
Monthly Outreach Ministry: On the 4th Sunday of the month from September until June the parish is invited to support different outreach projects. This has included “Give a Goat” for PWRDF, funding “Coffee Break” for the Alzheimer’s Society, “Fill a Baby Bottle” for Lethbridge Pregnancy Centre and support for the “Ogan School Project” in Nigeria, to name just a few.
Lethbridge Regional Hospital Chaplaincy: We support this interdenominational and interfaith pastoral ministry.
